Iraq marked the 101st anniversary of its Army Day on Thursday, as soldiers decorated their vehicles with colorful ribbons and balloons, and decorated their uniforms with the Iraqi flag to celebrate the event.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi reiterated on Wednesday that "the combat mission of the international coalition forces in Iraq has ended, and the Iraqi forces have received all the military bases."

On Dec. 29, 2021, al-Kadhimi confirmed the end of the U.S.-led coalition forces' combat mission in Iraq after the withdrawal of the forces from his country.
