Chinese Premier Li Keqiang vowed more support for small and medium-sized technology enterprises, in addition to policies encouraging scientific innovation of research institutions, colleges and big companies, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday.

Li made the remarks during a meeting held in Beijing with seven representatives from sectors including science, education, culture and sports, to collect their opinions and suggestions for the government work report.

Li said that the government will further stabilize major entities in the market and support the small and medium-sized enterprises and individual entrepreneurs with effective policies, including tax and fee cuts, as they have contributed to addressing employment pressure and stabilizing national economic growth.

Li also noted that governments at all levels should ramp up efforts to support industries, including tourism, catering and retail, in a bid to resume the development momentum affected by the COVID-19 epidemic.
