With the release of the 2021 White-collar Year-end Bonus Survey Report, a number of unconventional options have been spotted by netizens and given the title of the "weirdest bonuses of the year." The category includes condoms, lottery tickets, and salted ducks.

According to a survey conducted by Zhaopin, a Chinese recruiting website, cash is still the main form of year-end bonuses, with 97.5 percent of white-collar workers receiving cash, up from 94.1 percent in 2020. The average amount of cash received stands at 10,227 yuan ($1,615).

In addition to traditional bonuses, some people received unusual awards, including salted duck and pork, condoms, toothpaste, and lottery tickets. There are also spiritual awards of verbal praise and certificate of merit.

Nearly 40 percent of white-collar workers received year-end bonuses in 2021, higher than that of the previous two years, the survey shows.
