People part, going up and down.

When I left, like flowers fell snow;

Now I come, like snow flowers blow.

About the translator 

Xu Yuanchong (1921-2021) was born in Nanchang in East China's Jiangxi Province. He was a professor of literary translation at Peking University.

Fan Yun was a Southern Liang Dynasty (502-557) poet who was also a political thinker as well as a philosopher.
