Red berries grow in southern land.

How many load in spring the trees?

Gather them till full is your hand;

They would revive fond memories.

About the translator 

Xu Yuanchong (1921-2021) was born in Nanchang in East China's Jiangxi Province. He was a professor of literary translation at Peking University.

About the poet 

Wang Wei was a Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet who was not only a talented literati, but also a painter and calligrapher.
