This spring morning in bed I'm lying,

Not to awake till birds are crying.

After one night of wind and showers,

How many are the fallen flowers!

春眠不觉晓,处处闻啼鸟。

夜来风雨声,花落知多少!

About the poet 

Meng Haoran was a Tang Dynasty (618-907) poet who wrote many poems that depict the idyllic landscapes. A well-known hermit, he devoted his entire life to art and literature.

About the translator 

Xu Yuanchong (1921-2021) was born in Nanchang in East China's Jiangxi Province. He was a professor of literary translation at Peking University.
