Strange as it may seem, people can, and do, swallow strange objects, including insects, while sleeping at night. But a girl in Handan, North China's Hebei Province, accidentally swallowed a Bluetooth earpiece while sleeping on Saturday.
According to the woman surnamed Li, while she was sleeping with her Bluetooth earphones on Saturday, she felt something in her mouth in a daze and swallowed it. When she woke up the next morning, she found her headset missing. In retrospect, Miss Li identified the thing she swallowed last night was the Bluetooth earphones and said she was "conscious but unable to wake up as she was too tired."
She then went to the hospital to explain the situation to a doctor and took an X-ray, but could not find the earphone. The doctor suggested that she could put another earphone on her stomach to see if she could find it. And it worked!
Another night passed, and by the morning of Sunday, she had ejected the earphone successfully. How lucky!
