In a country that seldom snows, salt mountains have emerged as an unexpected tourist attraction at Port Fouad, Egypt's northeastern city and the Suez Canal's northernmost point.

The salt mountains offer visitors a unique experience similar to snow mountains. Such experience is rare in Egypt, which is adjacent to blistering and sandy deserts.

Egyptians from all across the country have flocked to the area to take in the view and have salt skiing.
