A dense sandstorm swept across Kuwait City on Friday, blanketing streets and leaving the capital with nearly everything shrouded in a yellowish haze.

Due to the low visibility on the road, transportation authorities have advised drivers to slow down.

Sandstorms are common in Kuwait, which consists mostly of desert.
