A video showing a woman who lives opposite the door of an apartment that was burning late at night in Hangzhou, provincial capital of East China's Zhejiang Province, wearing a facial mask and rushing with a fire extinguisher to put out the fire has sparked discussion online in China.

According to media reports, the lady's name is Zhang Dandan. 

The flames and the billowing smoke from the apartment could be seen reaching almost to the ceiling. Zhang walked to the door and started to put out the fire with a fire extinguisher. 

It took no more than five minutes from the time the neighbor's house was on fire until Zhang, who was wearing a facial mask, put out the fire.

Zhang not only received a commendation from the fire department afterwards, but also received a bonus of 5,000 yuan ($790). The money will be used for public welfare related to fire safety, Zhang said.
