Chinese Paralympic teams achieved great results again at Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games on Tuesday, the International Women's Day.

Wang Yue won bronze in the women's middle distance vision impaired Para biathlon on Tuesday.

In biathlon, a visually impaired athlete can only aim using sound when shooting with the rifle. "When you hear [the sound] is sharp, you are ready to shoot," Wang told media. Today, she missed the target twice in each of her first two rounds.

Wang said that Li Yalin, her guide, was encouraging her all the time, telling her to adjust her heart rate and remain calm. In the last round, Wang successfully scored all five shots.

Finally realizing her dream with a precious bronze medal in her pocket, Wang said, "I cannot see the world, but I want the world to see me."

In an interview after the competition, she said with an emotional voice that "I want the world to know that there is a girl who skis in China. Although she cannot see clearly, she wants to be on this stage."

Netizens have also shared their sincere congratulations to China's female athletes on the International Women's Day.

"Regardless of victory or defeat, they show the Girl Power!" a netizen posted on Sina Weibo.

The men's team also reaped a victory with China's Liu Mengtao winning the gold medal at the Para biathlon men's middle distance sitting of the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics on Tuesday. Liu finished with a time of 30 minutes and 37.7 seconds, which gave the rookie his first gold in the Paralympics and the eighth for Team China at the 2022 Winter Paralympics.

"It was sports that changed me, everyday training was not always easy. I often got injured too. I sometimes thought about giving up but should also thank myself for sticking to it," Liu told media after the competition.

He was excited, together with his coach after the competition along Chinese athletes Liu Zixu, Wang Tao and Zhu Yunfeng, who also participated in the competition. They waved China's flag and shared the victory with the audience.

Born in 2001 in North China's Hebei Province, Liu is a young athlete with huge potential. He won bronze on the men's short distance sitting competition on Saturday.
