An art exhibition themed on the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games kicked off in Beijing on Sunday.
Co-hosted by the China National Society for the Promotion of Arts and Culture and the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the
Olympic Fine Arts 2022 exhibition is displaying a total of 800 artworks across five sections: Chinese Ink Paintings, Chinese Calligraphy, Printmaking, Seal Cutting and Sculptures. The Chinese artworks are all from well-known Chinese artists, according to China News.
Additionally, a diverse range of more than 100 overseas artists are also at the exhibition, expressing the common aspiration of people around the world to seek out a better life.
A literature exhibition that focuses on previous Olympic Fine Arts exhibitions over the past 22 years is also displayed alongside the exhibition. Through more than 300 precious archives and objects, the documentary fully depicts the development of Olympic art exhibitions and interprets the Olympic spirit.
Over the past 14 years, six Olympic Fine Arts exhibitions featuring nearly 3,000 artists selected from about 20,000 artists in over 70 countries have been held. For example, the Chinese art authority has cooperated with many other international institutions to co-host exhibitors like Thames and the Great Wall Embrace the World - 2012 (London) Olympic Fine Arts and Brazil?China?Integrating the Beauty of the World - 2016 (Rio de Janeiro) Olympic Fine Arts.
Yang Xiaoyang, president of the Chinese art authority, said that the Olympic Fine Arts exhibition is sure to further expand the artistic influence of the Olympic spirit, according to China News.
