Two Serbian citizens received their driving licenses at the vehicle management office of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau Administration in Chaoyang district, Beijing on Monday, the first of its kind to Serbian citizens in China.
The issuing of the licenses marks the symbolic start of the implementation of the joint agreement by China and Serbia on mutual recognition and replacement of driver's licenses, according to the Serbian Embassy in Beijing on Monday.
The agreement is expected to further facilitate the residency of citizens of the two countries in Serbia and China respectively, the Embassy said.
Signed in May 2021, the agreement, which makes it possible for Serbian citizens to get driving licenses in China and vice versa, is a good reflection of the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
The signing of the agreement is also a good expression of the continued cooperation between the Serbian Ministry of Interior and China's Ministry of Public Security, the Embassy said.
