Foxconn, a manufacturer for Apples iPhones, announced on Monday that its major industrial parks in Shenzhen, a tech hub in South Chinas Guangdong Province, have resumed normal production and operation, following a brief suspension amid new COVID-19 cases.

Foxconns operations in the region have returned to normal, including production in Shenzhen's Longhua Technology Park and Guanlan Technology Park, on the premise of following epidemic prevention policies and strictly implementing epidemic prevention and control, Foxconn told the Global Times on Monday.

The two plants suspended production from March 14 due to epidemic control requirements. But from Wednesday, some Foxconn parks in Shenzhen resumed some production and operation as Shenzhen vowed to guarantee supply chain stability through targeted epidemic control measures for each workshop.

Longhua covers 2.3 square kilometers and Guanlan covers 2.95 square kilometers, both including staff accommodation, restaurants and other living areas. The two plants are original equipment manufacturers (OEM) for Apple's iPhone.

Shenzhen officials confirmed on Sunday that the city has completed three rounds of nucleic acid testing for all residents, achieving dynamic zero-COVID.

The city's government departments, enterprises, public institutions, production and operation units, public transportation including bus and subway services were fully restored from Monday, to ensure the safety and stability of the industrial chain and supply chains, ensuring normal production while allowing daily life to resume a degree of normalcy.

Outside of Futian district, which still has COVID-19 cases, other district-level areas in Shenzhen are allowing normal activities to resume, according to the Shenzhen Headquarters for Prevention and Control of COVID-19 Epidemic.
