Strange calls sometimes can bring surprises! Recently, a guy surnamed Tang from Zhengzhou, Central China's Henan Province, received a call from an officer from the Beijing Fengtai District People's Court. 

At first Tang thought it was a scam, but later discovered it was about a compensation on a laptop he lost 11 years ago at a hotel in Beijing. Tang received a compensation of 4,400 yuan ($692) from his bank.

According to Tang, he traveled to Beijing in 2011 where he lost the laptop. The hotel then advised Tang to call the police, but there was no progress after that. "To me, it's like a windfall," Tang said. 

Netizens were amazed by the attitude of the Beijing police. "I didn't expect that they are able to follow up on a case and return the money to the client after 11 years," one netizen said, "this guy is so lucky as a lot of these theft cases don't get solved."

"I have lost three bicycles in the past ten years. How come I never get any compensation back?" Another joked.
