China and the EU should strengthen communication, play a constructive role and provide stability to a volatile world situation, said President Xi via video link with EU leaders.

China hopes the EU will formulate an independent understanding of China, pursue an independent policy toward China, and work with China to jointly promote the stability and long-term devt of China-EU relations, President Xi told EU leaders.
