Shanghai's energy supplies including gas, liquid natural gas (LNG) and electricity remain stable during the latest Omicron outbreak in the financial hub, as cooperation within different local departments is minimizing the impact of the pandemic on the city.

The State Grid Shanghai Municipal Electric Power Company said on Tuesday via the official WeChat account of the State Grid that the company will maintain power supply for coronavirus-affected households in case they cannot pay the bills on time to avert defaults.

The company will also initiate a green channel for electricity supply at quarantine facilities and needed by medical materials transportation.

Since the March 28, Pudong customs in Shanghai had been securing the clearance of multiple imported energy sources to power essential services including 60,000 tons of jet fuel, 154,100 tons of coal and 62,000 tons of LNG.

Yangshan customs, located in the west side of Huangpu River which flows through Shanghai, conducted remote clearance procedures and secured the import of 62,700 tons of LNG to the local residences.
