Matthew Tkachuk collected his second career hat trick and Johnny Gaudreau hit the 100-point mark for the first time in his career as the host Calgary Flames claimed their fifth straight win, rallying to beat the Seattle Kraken 5-3 on Tuesday.

Andrew Mangiapane and Noah Hanifin also scored for the Pacific Division-leading Flames (45-19-9, 99 points). Calgary goaltender Dan Vladar stopped seven shots he faced after coming in for the third period to collect the win. Starter Jacob Markstrom was pulled after allowing three goals on 15 shots.

Ryan Donato, Victor Rask and Adam Larsson scored for Seattle (23-44-6, 52 points), while Matty Beniers, the second overall pick in the 2021 draft, collected one assist in his NHL debut. Chris Dredger stopped 26 shots.

With the score tied 3-3, Hanifin scored his eighth goal of the season on a power-play one-timer from the top of the right ­circle with 5:50 remaining in regulation. The defenseman's two-point game followed a four-assist outing in a Saturday win over the Kraken that opened the home-and-home series.

Calgary won for only the second time this season when trailing after two periods (2-12-2).

The Flames burst out of the gates in the third period to erase a 3-1 deficit.

Tkachuk made it a one-goal game when converted a Gaudreau feed at 3:10. Mangiapane pounced on a loose puck for his 31st goal of the season at 5:33 to snap a 12-game goal drought and tie the clash. Tkachuk's empty-netter, his 37th overall goal of the season, sealed the deal. Gaudreau assisted on that tally, too.

It was a disheartening result for the Kraken, who had the early momentum and were rewarded when Donato opened the scoring with his 15th of the season at the 14:13 mark, burying a one-timer set up by Beniers.

After Tkachuk collected his first of the night by deflecting Hanifin's point shot to even the count with 3:09 remaining in the opening frame, the expansion Kraken took advantage of a lethargic Flames team in the second period.

Rask put the visitors ahead a second time when he tallied from the slot at 3:06 of the middle period for his seventh of the season, and then Larsson found the mark with a long point shot for his seventh of the campaign with 2:50 left in the period to make it 3-1.

Ilya Sorokin made 43 saves and Kyle Palmieri scored the only goal of a shootout as the New York Islanders recorded a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday in Elmont, New York.

Zach Parise and Josh Bailey each scored twice during regulation for the Islanders (34-29-9, 77 points), who kept their slim playoff chances alive with their sixth win in the past eight games.

The Penguins (42-22-11, 95 points) could have clinched a playoff berth with a regulation win. Pittsburgh is 1-4-1 in its past six games.

Jake Guentzel had two goals and an assist for the Penguins, while Sidney Crosby and Rickard Rakell each had two assists. Jeff Carter and Danton Heinen scored Pittsburgh's other goals.

Pittsburgh goalie Casey DeSmith stopped 33 of 37 shots.

The Penguins lost both Bryan Rust and Evan Rodrigues to undisclosed injuries. Rust left after just 1:06 of ice time early in the first period, while Rodrigues headed to the locker room during the second period.
