An elderly migrant worker in East China's Zhejiang recovers his lost money and then some
A restaurant owner surnamed Chen in Wenzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province, posted a video hoping to help an old man, a migrant worker in Wenzhou, recover his lost cash, which attracted the attention of netizens.
The old man working in Wenzhou, found $1,530 (9,800 yuan) in cash missing from his wallet after saving for three months of hard work.
"I lost my appetite and didn't want to eat anything when I found that I lost the money, I even wanted to die," said the old man.
The restaurant owner surnamed Chen, who had served food to the old man and posted the video for help, said he felt very sorry for the old man. "He had earned all this money by manual labor, which is very hard work," said Chen.
Chen said many people contacted him after the video was posted, some people gave $15 (100 yuan) and some $30 (200 yuan) and soon helped to collect the $1530 (9,800 yuan) that the old man had lost and was even a surplus of $14 (88 yuan).
Chen finally took the old man to the bank to deposit the 9,888 yuan. "I'm really grateful to all the people who helped me," said the old man.
