The statement issued by the United Nations Security Council condemning the terrorist attack at the University of Karachi in Pakistan reflects the international community's strong indignation and severe condemnation of this act of terrorism, as well as its sympathy and condolences to the civilians of China and Pakistan who were tragically killed, representing the common sentiment of all countries in the world, Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Friday.

"Justice will not be absent, evil will be severely punished," Zhao said, noting that terrorism is the common enemy of all mankind, and combating terrorism is the common responsibility of the international community.

Zhao stressed that the current international terrorism continues to pose a serious threat to the security of people and social stability of all countries, calling on all parties to strengthen coordination and cooperation and take all measures to combat terrorism and jointly maintain world peace.

The members of the UN Security Council on Thursday issued a press statement that strongly condemned the terrorist attack in the University of Karachi in Pakistan, which led to the deaths of three Chinese nationals and one Pakistani in addition to several injuries.

In the statement, the UN Security Council members extended their deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and the Governments of China and Pakistan, and reiterated that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security, stressing that the perpetrators, organizers, financiers and supporters of the terror attack should be brought to justice, urging the countries to cooperate with the Chinese and Pakistani governments on this matter.

The violent attack targeting Chinese teachers has shocked people in China and Pakistan and the international community, arousing a growing number of responses.

On April 27, Pang Chunxue, Charge d 'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan, led a working group of the embassy to Karachi to condole the Chinese teachers killed in the terrorist attack and visit the injured, expressing sympathy and encouraging them to be strong and united to overcome difficulties together.

After that, Pang attended joint meetings with the Pakistani Interior Ministry and the government of Sindh Province, where he was briefed by the Pakistani side on the progress of the investigation into the incident.

The Pakistani side said it was deeply saddened by the death of Chinese nationals in the terrorist attack, and that the Pakistani government had conducted an investigation into the incident at the first time and would definitely bring the perpetrators to justice,  taking every effort to strengthen the security protection of Chinese citizens in Pakistan to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.
