All sectors in Pakistan condemn terrorist killings of Chinese teachers at Confucius Institute in Karachi

Political figures and Pakistanis from all walks of life have condemned the recent killing of Chinese teachers in a terrorist attack targeting the Confucius Institute at the University of Karachi in Pakistan.

Three Chinese nationals and a Pakistani man were killed, and another Chinese national was injured in a targeted suicide bombing at the University of Karachi's Confucius Institute on afternoon on April 26 in Karachi.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistani President Arif Alvi visited the Chinese Embassy to express their condolences to the victims of the terror attack.

Prime Minister Sharif vowed to do whatever it takes to bring the perpetrators to justice.

President Arif Alvi strongly condemned the attack, saying that Pakistan will spare no effort to combat terrorism and ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions in the country.

Pakistan's newly appointed Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and other major political figures also visited the Chinese Embassy to mourn the victims.

Bilawal said the Pakistani federal and the local government will pull all their resources to conduct a thorough investigation on the attack and won't rest until the culprits are hunted down and given punishment.

Multiple Pakistani ministers, leaders from opposition party also condemned the attack. Chief minister of Sindh Province visited the Consulate General in Karachi and vowed to punish the perpetrators.

Karachi police said the attack on teachers is a disgrace.

Mainstream Pakistani media outlets including The Dawn and The Nation also closely followed the event and condemned the terrorist attack.

Pakistani faculty and students at the University of Karachi in Pakistan stronglycondemned the terrorist attack, saying such attacks on teachers are unacceptable.

The members of the United Nations Security Council condemned in "the strongest terms" the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack in the Karachi University, according to a statement on April 28.

The members of the Security Council underlined the need to hold perpetrators, organizers, financiers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism accountable and bring them to justice, the statement said.
