Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday urged diplomatic resolutions for the ongoing Ukraine crisis.
"Dialogue and diplomacy should resolve the issue," Modi told a joint press conference after meeting with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen.
Modi reiterated India's position on the conflict, calling for an "immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine."
Modi said his visit to Denmark, the first by an Indian prime minister in 20 years, was part of a process to strengthen ties between the two countries.
He voiced hope to make cooperation "more dynamic" in various areas such as renewable energy, health, ports, shipping, the circular economy, as well as the water management.
"Today, we have agreed on a number of concrete steps, on green energy, clean water, and to counter the next global health crisis," said Frederiksen.
Since Monday, the Indian prime minister has been on a tour of Germany, Denmark, and France.
Modi is expected to attend the second India-Nordic Summit alongside the prime ministers of Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
