Getting stuck in an elevator is something many people dread. But the kids seem to have a new understanding of what it means. A boy from Aksu, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region was trapped in an elevator on his way to school. Firefighters rushed to the scene, broke the door of the elevator and swiftly rescued the boy.
When the door opened, the boy was crying hysterically. The firemen thought the child was just scared, and one of them held him in his arms to comfort him. To everyone's surprise, the boy was crying for his unfinished homework. "I haven't finished my homework, I'm so sad," the boy cried and murmured. Netizens were tickled by the cute child's reaction. "Now that his story is all over the news, his teacher should be convinced that he did not skip his homework on purpose," one netizen joked.
"Not doing homework is worse than being trapped in the elevator. Knowledge is power. Next time, finish your homework earlier before you go to school," commented another netizen.
