Nine government agencies including the National Health Commission, Ministry of Public Security and State Administration for Market Regulation co-issued a decree targeting illicit commercial acts among the country's medical workers.

The decree stated that relevant authorities will launch an inspection campaign targeting illicit live-streaming sales events in which medical workers leverage their position to sell drugs and medical equipment.

The campaign also covered regulation of promotions targeting families with infants and pregnant women, as well as misleading advertisements for unlicensed medical institutions.

In order to address the issues reported by public, the decree vowed to build a long-term supervision system to ferret out illegal industry chains involved in selling medicine and medical devices.
