Several people were wounded following a bicycle bomb explosion in the central part of Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan on Monday, the capital police confirmed.

The incident occurred roughly at 6:00 p.m. local time (1330 GMT) in Police District 4 of the city, Khlid Zadran, spokesman of Kabul police, said on social media.

The Taliban security forces have cordoned off the area for precautionary measures. An investigation was underway, the spokesman added.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion yet.
