Shanghai Disney Resort partially reopens, Disneyland remains closed

Shanghai Disney Resort announced on Thursday to reopen some of its resort locations, in-cluding a park near the Shanghai Disneyland and a store on Friday, after nearly a three-month closure linked to recent  coronavirus outbreaks. 

The locations set to reopen on Friday are the Wishing Star Park, the World of Disney Store and Blue Sky Boulevard. Those locations will operate at limited capacity and reduced hours in an effort to prevent COVID. For example, the Wishing Star Park will operate from 9:00 to 17:00, compared with normal opening time of 8:00-19:00.

Shanghai Disneyland, Disneytown and the two resort hotels remain closed. The resort said its team “continues to prepare for the reopening of the entire resort.” 

The resort has also arranged a list of COVID prevention and control measures for the reo-pening, with new additional measures following guidelines issued by local authorities. For example, all guests will be required to present a green Shanghai Health QR Code and a negative nucleic acid test taken within 72 hours. 

Guests are also requested to undergo temperature screening upon entering the resort, and will be required to wear masks during their visit while observing social distancing re-quirements. 
 
The resort also announced an increase in sanitation and disinfection work to prevent COVID. 

The Shanghai Disney Resort announced its temporarily closure starting from March 21 as a result of coronavirus situation, prior to a lengthy city-wide lockdown which began in April.

As Shanghai lifts its lockdown, significant attention has been given as to when Shanghai Disneyland will reopen. Many netizens also commented on Shanghai Disney’s Weibo account that they look forward to visiting the resort.
