At a time when the world is still troubled by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, museums and galleries have been exploring various solutions and thinking toward "how we host exhibitions and how audiences view exhibitions," said Wu Weishan, president of the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC).
Wu made the remarks on Thursday at the second forum of the BRICS Alliance of Art Museums and Galleries event attended by representatives at national art museums from the five BRICS countries.
The core of cultural exchanges includes the cultural characteristics of each nation, as well as a warm, kind and open heart and the soul to cherish each other's civilization and maintain world peace, added Wu, who is also the secretary-general of the alliance.
Presidents of the National Museum of Fine Arts in Brazil, State Museum of Oriental Art of Russia, National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi and Iziko Museums of South Africa delivered speeches on topics like cultural exchanges, the roles of art museums and online exhibitions.
