In order to enhance their students' abilities, Chinese universities started setting up some special courses to meet students' needs and improve their ability to survive in harsh environments. Recently, a selective course of filed survival at Xi'an Shiyou University has gained popularity among students.
According to the students, in this class they can learn ways and skills to survive in the wild, such as tying knots, making fires and tying bandages. There are only 100 seats available for the registration, which were filled up within ten seconds. "It was so popular," a student who failed to register for the class said.
According to the teacher, to get good grades at the end of the class, students have two choices: The first is to go camping and climbing with the teacher in the wild and live in the outdoors for two days and one night.
During the stay outdoors, students will need to cook by themselves, and it is more suitable for students with good physical strength. The second is to overcome psychological obstacles at the training base and complete a series of adventures, including climbing, crossing bridges, etc.
"Through this course, I learned the importance of cooperation, and trained myself to bravely face all kinds of difficulties. I hope I can take on more wild survival projects in the future," a student said.
