A: What is this jar of transparent liquid on your table?

你桌上摆的这罐透明液体是什么呢？

B: You mean this? It is the aloe vera gel.    

你说这个吗？这是芦荟胶。

(nǐshuō zhèɡè ma? zhèshì lúhuìjiāo.)

A: I know what that is. It is a type of liquid derived from the aloe vera plant.    

这我知道。这种液体是草本植物芦荟萃取而来的。

(zhè wǒzhīdào.zhèzhǒnɡ yètǐ shì cǎoběn zhíwù lúhuì cuìqǔ érlái de.)

B: You're right. But do you know what this colorless and odorless aloe vera gel is used for?    

你说的没错,但你知道这无色无味的芦荟胶有什么功效吗？

(nǐ shuōde méicuò, dàn nǐzhīdào zhè wúsè wúwèi de lúhuìjiāo yǒu shénme ɡōnɡxiào ma?) 

A: It can reduce inflammation and sterilize things. It can also energize cells, so it is often used as a skin care product.   

它有消炎杀菌的功效,并且还可以增加细胞活力,常被用来做护肤品。

(tāyǒu xiāoyán shājūn de ɡōnɡxiào, bìnɡqiě hái kěyǐ zēnɡjiā xìbāo huólì, chánɡbèi yònɡlái zuò hùfūpǐn.)

B: That's right. I burned my hand two days ago. After putting some aloe vera gel on it, it didn't hurt that much.

A: Aloe vera is a very precious plant. Besides making aloe vera gel, it can also be used in cooking since it is an edible plant.
