Recently, a van was reported to have broken through the barriers when getting off the highway in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province. When police stopped the car, the driver, surnamed Yang, was arguing with his wife.
The two had recently quarreled and decided to drive back to their hometown to divorce. On their way they got angry at each other, and Yang wanted to hurry to get the divorce papers signed. However, Yang had forgotten to take the nucleic acid test in time. Worried that a lack of nucleic acid result would delay his divorce proceedings, Yang broke through a police checkpoint.
After the police learned of the situation, they took the two back to the checkpoint and conducted the nucleic acid test on them. The police required then that at least one of them go volunteering for five hours, and Yang immediately offered himself for the job. After the five-hour punishment, Yang felt calmer, he made up with his wife and they went home together in good spirits.
The incident sparked a heated discussion on Monday, with some netizens saying: "Although they had quarreled with each other, it was obvious that they still love each other," while others said that such actions were dangerous.
