The signing ceremony of a strategic cooperation framework between Fenjiu Group and Shuozhou municipal government was held on May 25, 2022. The parties announced in-depth cooperation on raw grain planting, which means that the construction of raw grain base of Fenjiu in Shanxi will reach a new level. Yuan Qingmao, Party secretary and chairman of Fenjiu, said that it is the strategic goal of the future development of Fenjiu to build a first-class wine-making raw grain cultivation base in China, and the cooperation between the two sides will certainly contribute to the economic and social development of Shanxi Province.
Shuozhou is an integration zone of agriculture and animal husbandry between the farming area of the Central Plains and the pastureland in the north. Now it has developed into an important agricultural planting area in China. In 2021, the total planting area of Fenjiu raw grain base reached more than 1.1 million acres. Among them, the sorghum-planting area included 470,000 acres within Shanxi Province; outside Shanxi, the sorghum-planting area covers 250,000 acres including the Northeast China and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The barley base consists of two major sections: The Northwest China and Northeast China, including the military horse farm in Shandan, Gansu Province, the surrounding areas of Yongchang county, and the Tulimaudu farm in Xingan League, Inner Mongolia, with a barley planting area of 160,000 acres. Pea base takes Northwest and North China's Hebei Province as the main green production areas, radiating and driving the development of Inner Mongolia, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the surrounding areas of Shanxi, forming five regions, including Yongdeng region in Gansu Province, Zhangbei region in Hebei Province, Zhuozi and Liangcheng counties in Inner Mongolia, Guyuan county in Ningxia and the surrounding areas of Shuozhou city in Shanxi.
The strategic cooperation between Fenjiu and Shuozhou means that Shuozhou will not only supply peas for Fenjiu, but also increase cooperation on sorghum and other raw grains.
