A Palestinian man was shot after he attacked an Israeli bus driver with a screwdriver in East Jerusalem on Tuesday afternoon, the Israeli police said in a statement.
The incident took place inside a bus near the Ramot Junction, a crossroad in a settlement neighborhood of Jerusalem, according to the statement.
The 41-year-old driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital, said the Magen David Adom emergency health service in a statement
The assailant "was shot and neutralized," the police said, without elaborating on his condition.
Israel's state-owned Kan TV news reported that a civilian passing by the scene shot the alleged assailant, a resident of the West Bank city of Ramallah.
