Recently, a kind of "blind suitcase box" becomes popular among influencers, and many video bloggers have made test videos on various social media platforms to attract people's attention. Some dealers who provide such blind box told the media outlets that these suitcases are generally unclaimed suitcases left at the airport or train station for a long time. A blogger's video of unboxing one blind box of 1,000 yuan($148) had went viral on Chinese social media platforms on July 30.
After opening the suitcase, the blogger found a lot of girls' clothes in the box, as well as books, cosmetics, a camera bag and a memory card. But what caught the eye most was a necklace from a suspected luxury brand, which was valued at more than 40,000 yuan. The story continues to simmer, sparking heated debate online. Some netizens worry that such behavior may violate others' privacy and is illegal. According to reports, the suitcase in the video has a tag on it that said it is from Yiwu Airport in East China's Zhejiang Province.
Yiwu Airport responded on Saturday that after verification by the staff of the airport and the departure station, the luggage in the video is not from the airport, and the consignment sign is inconsistent with the airport.
The airport also asked the blogger to delete the video immediately. Experts said that buying such suitcases itself has certain legal risks and hidden danger, and guiding other consumers to buy and sell blind boxes of suitcases has violated the privacy right of the owners.
