A farmer surnamed Shi from Nanchong, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, posted a video on the social media platform on Monday saying that grapes in his garden had turned into raisins due to continuous high temperatures, causing great losses.

According to Shi, because the high temperature in the city has lasted for nearly a month, the outdoor temperature reached more than 40 C, and the temperature in the greenhouse was as high as 50 C. Despite efforts to save the grapes from the sun, water and other methods, nothing worked, and nearly 1.8 hectares of grapes were turned into raisins.

Shi said that the grape varieties are expensive with a normal price of 20 yuan ($3) per 500 grams.

However, after turning into raisins, the grapes now cannot be sold due to storage, quality and other problems, and the loss is expected to be more than 300,000 yuan ($43,738). The video attracted a lot of attention from netizens, who expressed their support for Shi's selling of raisins. After watching the video, some people took out their grapes and hung them on the balcony to make raisins. "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade," one netizen commented.
