Recently, a video of a woman surnamed Li from Guang'an, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, using ropes to pull takeaway food up to her home on the 25th floor has become a hit on Weibo, China's Twitter-like social media platform.

Li said that she ordered delivery at 4 pm but had not received her food at 5 pm when the power went out. It was quite hot outside, so she worried that the delivery man would get a heat stroke if he needs to climb 25 flights of stairs to reach her home. She found the ropes that her dad used on the construction site, hung it down to the first floor where no one was walking by.  

The news has triggered a huge public response. Some said that such an action may pose a risk of falling objects, while more people thought it reflects the mutual understanding between the customer and the deliveryman. "If the elevator worked, or there was no power outage, she would certainly not have used ropes to get her takeaway. But in such a special and extreme situation, this was a relatively win-win method," one netizen said.
