The Taliban-run caretaker administration has called upon the world community not to pressure the new establishment in Afghanistan but adopt a reasonable policy towards it.
The administration "once again" calls upon the international community to "adopt a reasonable policy towards Afghanistan and respect the country's freedom and territorial integrity," said a statement of the administration on the first anniversary of the U.S. forces' withdrawal here on Wednesday.
"We want the international community to respect the will of Afghans, allow Afghans to have the Islamic system of their choice and as an independent nation to have normal and positive relations with the world community," the statement noted.
The statement also paid tribute to the victims of the 20 years of foreign military presence, calling them the faithful people of Afghanistan.
Speaking in a ceremony to celebrate the U.S.-led forces' withdrawal from Afghanistan, the administration's Acting Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund congratulated the day as the victory of Afghans against the U.S. occupying forces.
Akhund also noted that the U.S. forces' 20 years of occupation left nothing more than destruction, poverty, travel ban on the leaders of the administration and sanctions on the country.
Akhund also stated that his administration is ready to settle any disputed issues with any side through dialogue.
The day of Aug. 31 was announced as a public holiday and the administration marked the Aug. 30 night of the victory with firecrackers, and the day with military parades.
