After 11 days of shipping, the first batch of China-made high-speed trains for the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway (HSR) arrived at Jakarta Port in Indonesia on Thursday, cctv.com reported.

The trains departed from Qingdao Port in East China's Shandong Province on August 21. They will be transported to Bandung by road, with the rest scheduled to be shipped in batches by early 2023, the Global Times learned.

The bullet trains that will be used for the Jakarta-Bandung HSR project include 11 sets of high-speed electric multiple units (EMUs) and one comprehensive testing train, according to a statement previously sent from China Railway to the Global Times.

According to Indonesian media reports, the second batch will include three sets of EMUs and is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on December 25. The third batch with three EMUs will arrive on February 25, 2023, and the fourth batch with three EMUs will arrive on March 15, 2023.

The railway is projected to accommodate 30,000 passengers every day. Each train can accommodate 601 passengers, media reports said, and there will be four stations on the Jakarta-Bandung HSR: Halim Station, Karawang Station, Padalarang Station, and Tegalluar Station.

The Jakarta-Bandung HSR is a landmark project under the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). And it is also the first high-speed railway project launched overseas that fully uses Chinese technology, standards and equipment.
