A video of a villager in Southwest China's Guizhou Province calling for people to help two elderly people harvest rice has gone viral online, and later received assistance from 12 soldiers.

The villager surnamed Lu, said she was passing by a rice field when she saw two elderly people harvesting rice and learned that their only son had passed away. 

"I felt heartbroken watching them working hard in the field, so I wanted to make a video to help them," Lu said. But what Lu didn't expect was that she soon received response from the army, who immediately sent 12 soldiers to help the elderly harvest rice.

"Many people may not understand the close relationship between Chinese soldiers and people," a netizen said. "Our soldiers will stand up when the people need help, and the people also appreciate the soldiers' help from their hearts."
