After they received the warning information 20 seconds in advance, all the 23 teachers immediately ran to their classes, woke up the children who were having a noon nap to evacuate to a safe place.
According to Yang, a teacher at the kindergarten, the whole process took 117 seconds, and they managed to evacuate all 127 children aged between 2 and 6 safely. The children who could not wake up were carried away together with their quilts by the teachers, and none of the children were injured. In the afternoon after the earthquake, the teachers gave psychological counseling to the children, and then did an earthquake emergency drill again.
