An art exhibition showing Hunan Province' patriotic spirit through Chinese calligraphy kicked off at Beijing's National Museum of China on Saturday.

A total of 59 calligraphy works featuring the standard script, the clerical script, the cursive script and the seal script are on display.

The exhibition's various sections explore the main theme of the relationship between the country and its people.

Embodying aesthetics in traditional Chinese culture, these works document memorable moments and people in the history of the Communist Party of China. They aim to reflect the historical achievements and changes that occurred in Hunan Province over the past 10 years.

Li Xin, secretary of the Party committee of the Chinese Calligraphers Association said at the opening ceremony on Saturday that in recent years the Hunan Calligraphy Association has made gratifying achievements in making exhibitions aimed at benefiting the people.

The event is scheduled to end on September 15.
