A: Look, this is the sugar painting I bought at the temple fair yesterday.

A: Sugar painting is a kind of traditional folk art. It uses sugar syrup as the materials to create designs.

糖画是一种民间传统手工艺,以糖浆为材料来绘制各种不同的造型。

(tánɡhuà shì yīzhǒnɡ mínjiān chuántǒnɡ  shǒuɡōnɡyì,yǐ tánɡjiānɡ wéi cáiliào lái huìzhì ɡèzhǒnɡ bùtónɡ de zàoxínɡ.) 

B: How is it done exactly?  

具体是怎么做的呢？

(jùtǐ shì zěnme zuòde ne?)

A: The sugar painter uses a small soup spoon to scoop up melted sugar and quickly pours it on a flat stone board to draw a design. After the design is done, the artist uses a small spatula to pick up the sugar painting and put it on a bamboo skewer. 

糖画艺人用小汤勺舀起融化了的糖浆,在石板上飞快地来回浇铸,画出造型。当造型完成后,随即用小铲刀将糖画铲起,粘上竹签。
