In the composition of his works, there are abundant objects closely related to the central theme, but their shape and color are expressed in a controlled way, which can be easily perceived by the audience but not distracting at all. As artists, being capable of processing the overall effect of their works dialectically both in thinking and practice, they must rely on both skills and cultivation. Skills come from hard work, which means a solid foundation of at least eight to 10 years or more of practice. Cultivation is a soft skill for artists and is a lifetime practice for them through reading and experiencing.

There is no contradiction between genuine innovation and in-depth study of tradition, and it is even an important driving force to stimulate and promote innovation, since the accumulated experience in traditional art is so rich for later artists to comprehend, which activates their own understanding and innovation ability.

Luo Xiang's paintings come from tradition. He freely expresses his emotions and state of mind according to his own learning experience, as well as observation and research of objective natural objects. His innovation is not seeking to be unique, but to observe beauty and strength through a normal state of mind.
