Chinese striker Zhang Linyan scored in her debut at the Swiss women's soccer league Nationalliga A to help Grasshopper FC Zurich beat Zurich Frauen 2-0 on Saturday.

Zhang, who was on loan with Grasshopper for a year, started the 3rd-round match and scored in the 50th minute to seal the victory, as Grasshopper collected the maximum nine points to lead the standings.

The 21-year-old Chinese played for the Chinese Women's Super League club Wuhan Jianghan University FC before joining Grasshopper in 2022's summer.

She delivered a stunning performance in the 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup final in February.

Zhang scored her maiden goal for the national team to level the game in the 71st minute, helping China complete a 3-2 comeback victory over South Korea. She was also named the Future Star of the final.

"Her skills, agility with and without the ball, game reading, and international experience are all her strengths," said Grasshopper's general manager Lara Dickenmann in July.
