16 Chinese online novels have been added to the collection of the British Library, including Up in the Heaven, The Era of the Earth, The Wisdom of Great Song Dynasty and Great Power, Heavy Industry. 

These works including science, history, reality and fantasy themes, are thought to be the classics of Chinese online literature from the past 20 years.

One of the largest research libraries in the world, the British Library houses more than 170 million items, including the cultural relics of different civilizations throughout history.

This is the first time that Chinese online novels covering many subjects have been included in the British Library's Chinese collection. It also means that Chinese online literature is increasingly recognized both at home and abroad, with many online novels having already been included in Chinese libraries earlier.

"It's a surprise to me that Chinese online fiction can be added to the collection of a foreign library," said one of the authors whose work is listed by the British Library.

"I'm also happy for the achievements of online literature, which makes me feel that the path of writing online novels is getting wider and wider," the author added.
