Beijing reported five new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, including four identified among people in quarantine and one discovered in mass screening. Two of the new infections are related to a local board game studio.

So far, there are at least four infections related to the studio, including one from Dongcheng district reported on October 10 and one from Daxing district reported on October 9.

Two new infections reported on Wednesday were also related to the studio. One visited the studio on October 7 and the other worked at the studio.

Beijing Municipal Health Commission reiterated that people arriving in Beijing have to take two nucleic acid tests within three days and complete one nucleic acid test within 24 hours upon arrival. They cannot go out until they get a negative result and they are not allowed to participate in dinner parties or get-togethers or go to densely populated places.

According to the statement from the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the patient discovered in a community mass screening did not strictly comply with the epidemic prevention regulations, such as completing a nucleic acid test within 24 hours upon arrival in Beijing and not going to densely populated places within seven days after arriving in Beijing.

Meanwhile, his company did not perform the duties of supervision, management and health monitoring for employees, which increased the risk of epidemic spreading, said the statement.

Beijing has reported 72 COVID-19 infections since September 29, covering 11 districts of the capital city, local media reported.
