"Since the onset of the epidemic, China has put people and people's lives on top," he said. "We give top priority to people's health and safety. This is starting point and goal of our epidemic response efforts."

The dynamic zero-COVID-19 policy is an epidemic prevention policy formulated based on China's national conditions and in accordance with scientific laws. The core is rapid response and precise prevention and control, which can minimize the impact on economic and social development and the public's day to day lives, the spokesperson said.

China is a country with a large population and many elderly people, unbalanced development in different areas and a shortage of medical resources. The dynamic zero-COVID-19 policy ensures a low infection and death rate. China's prevention policy is the most economical and effective approach, Sun said.

China has maintained continuous and stable operation of the economy and society, precisely because of sticking to its dynamic zero-COVID-19 policy, insisting that the epidemic must be controlled, the economy must be stabilized, and development must be safe, the spokesperson said.

 "Our prevention and control strategies and measures will become more and more scientific, more and more precise, more and more effective, and the level of coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development will also become higher and higher," Sun said, "We firmly believe that the dawn is ahead and persistence is victory."
