China's common prosperity vision and its new development pattern that is focused on the domestic economy and features positive interplay between domestic and international economic flows will be written into the amended Communist Party of China (CPC) Constitution, according to a resolution adopted Saturday at the closing session of the 20th CPC National Congress.

The 20th CPC National Congress on Saturday passed a resolution on the amendment to the CPC Constitution, including statements on gradually realizing the goal of common prosperity for all, having an accurate understanding of the new state of development and applying a new philosophy of innovative, coordinated, green, open and shared development.

Among the revisions was also accelerating efforts to foster a new pattern of development that is focused on the domestic economy and features positive interplay between domestic and international economic flows.

In a report to the 20th CPC National Congress on October 16, Xi Jinping said that Chinese modernization is socialist modernization pursued under the CPC's leadership. It is the modernization of a huge population, the modernization of common prosperity for all, the modernization of material and cultural-ethical advancement, the modernization of harmony between humanity and nature, and the modernization of peaceful development.

"We must fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy on all fronts, continue reforms to develop the socialist market economy, promote high-standard opening up, and accelerate efforts to foster a new pattern of development that is focused on the domestic economy and features positive interplay between domestic and international economic flows," Xi said in the report.

China will make sure that the implementation of the strategy to expand domestic demand is integrated with the efforts to deepen supply-side structural reform, Xi said. Efforts will be made to boost the dynamism and reliability of the domestic economy while engaging at a higher level in the global economy.

The Congress notes that advancing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through a Chinese path to modernization has been proposed and designated as the central task of the Party on the new journey of the new era, read the resolution adopted Saturday.

Basic socialist economic systems, including the system under which public ownership is the mainstay and diverse forms of ownership develop together, the system under which distribution according to work is the mainstay while multiple forms of distribution exist alongside it, and the socialist market economy, are important pillars of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

The Congress agrees to incorporate statements to that effect into the Party Constitution.
