People entering China from overseas should follow a "7+3" quarantine policy (7-day centralized quarantine and medical observation as well as a 3-day home health monitoring period) and receive nucleic acid tests accordingly before participating in the 5th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 as scheduled, according to a statement released on Monday by Shanghai Fabu, the information office's official WeChat account.

All participants are required to take at least one nucleic acid test within 48 hours before arriving in Shanghai and get a valid negative nucleic acid test certificate.

Participation is prohibited under certain circumstances, such as if participants have lived in or travelled to regions where there is a local pandemic risk within 10 days before arriving at the exhibition.

All participants (except special guests) have to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks before entering the exhibition areas, and eligible personnel are required to complete booster immunizations, according to the CIIE organizers.

A "landing test" will be strictly implemented, in which all visitors from other provinces and cities should take a nucleic acid test within 24 hours upon arrival in Shanghai. The policy of "two tests in three days" will also be carried out strictly, which means all participants should take at least two nucleic acid tests (at least 24 hours apart) within three days before entering exhibition areas for the first time, according to the authorities.

During the expo, all personnel entering exhibition areas and exhibition halls have to wear N95/KN95 particulate matter protective masks, and pay attention to hand hygiene and personal protection. They should also avoid gatherings of people as much as possible, said the authorities.

The organizers also set up regulations on food management during the expo in order to reduce risks. Imported frozen fresh food will not be sold in exhibition areas and it is not allowed to eat frozen fresh food without "cooked processing."

Also, all personnel who will leave Shanghai should present a negative nucleic acid test certificate valid within 48 hours before leaving the city.

The business exhibition of the 5th CIIE consists of six areas - food and agricultural products, automobiles, intelligent industry and information technology, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare products, and trade in services - according to the China International Import Expo Bureau.

As the 5th CIIE draws near, the Shanghai airport border inspection service is welcoming overseas exhibitors arriving for the Expo, providing fast customs clearance convenience and multilingual consultation services.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai airport border inspection has promoted the application of science and tech in the service of the CIIE to provide a "green channel" for cargo flights carrying CIIE exhibits.

On October 19, a flight carrying exhibits arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. The Shanghai airport border inspection immediately conducted fast clearance inspection and gave priority to handling border inspection procedures for crew members to ensure the goods were delivered safely, according to the Shanghai airport border inspection station.
