At the invitation of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and president of China, Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC), would visit China from Sunday to Wednesday.
His ongoing visit comes at a crucial moment when the socialist construction of China and Vietnam has entered a new stage of development and will inject strong impetus into the long-term, sound and stable development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo said in an article published on Monday.
In his article, Xiong stressed that both China and Vietnam are socialist countries led by communist parties, with the same political system, shared ideals and beliefs and similar development paths.
The two countries have fought side by side and supported each other in the cause of national independence and liberation for a long time, Xiong said.
As good comrades of the same mind, China and Vietnam insist that the top leaders of the two parties steer the bilateral relations. The two countries firmly grasp the overall situation and development direction of bilateral relations from a strategic point of view, firmly support each other in advancing major political agendas, work together to deepen understanding of the laws governing the Communist Party, the laws governing socialist construction and the laws governing the development of human society, and contribute to the progress of human civilization.
As good neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, China and Vietnam adhere to the important role of the people in friendly exchanges, carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries and continuously enhance mutual understanding and friendly feelings between the two peoples, especially the younger generation.
In the face of the sudden COVID-19 outbreak, China and Vietnam have stood by each other. China has provided 52.3 million doses of vaccines to Vietnam, making important contributions to its fight against the epidemic.
As good friends sharing weal and woe, China and Vietnam have strengthened communication and coordination in multilateral affairs, supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and major concerns, and jointly upheld multilateralism and international fairness and justice.
As good partners for win-win cooperation, China and Vietnam have made steady progress in synergizing development strategies, making full use of convenient conditions for connectivity, working hard to keep industrial and supply chains stable and unblocked, and constantly upgrading economic, trade and investment cooperation.
Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the sixth largest in the world, with bilateral trade exceeding $230 billion in 2021. The industrial and production capacity cooperation between the two countries enjoys huge potential and broad prospects, Xiong said in his article.
The successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC has attracted and been followed by the Vietnam's Party, government, and all sectors of society.
In the future, China is ready to work with Vietnam to adhere to the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two parties, consolidate political mutual trust, strengthen solidarity and cooperation, foster people-to-people friendship, so as to ensure steady and long-term growth of bilateral relations and inject stability and positive energy into an uncertain world.
