The preliminary selection of a week-long Global Design Collection of "Picturesque Zhejiang Travel Package" for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, which will be held in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang Province from September 23 to October 8, 2023, started on Tuesday.
From October 22 to Sunday, the event was hosted by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Organizing Committee Office, and organized by Zhejiang Radio and Television Group, according to an announcement published by the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial People's Government.
The secondary selection will kick off on Sunday and run until November 10. The final selection will be made from November 11 to 15. A total of 10 works will be awarded in two categories, including three "Best Works" and seven "Outstanding Works"; 5,000 copies of each of the Best Works will be produced, equal to a total of 15,000 copies, the statement said.
For the Best Works, applicants will be given an award certificate, and a prize of $2,000 or two tickets for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games (excluding airfare and accommodation), in addition to Asian Games souvenirs.
For the Outstanding Works, an award certificate, a prize of $300 and Asian Games souvenirs will be gifted to the applicants.
As for qualifications of applicants, the announcement said that all individuals or organizations who were willing to participate in this solicitation and voluntarily abide by the requirements of the announcement can participate individually or jointly to submit the design proposals. The applicant should clearly indicate the name of the author in the submitted documents. Co-applicants shall indicate the names of all co-authors in the submission.
The design proposals should highlight the charm of "Picturesque Zhejiang" and the Olympic spirit, and conform to the positioning, goals and concept of the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Paralympic Games, it said.
The 19th Asian Games were originally planned to be held from September 10 to 25, 2022, but was postponed by the Olympic Council of Asia Executive Board in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Xinhua News Agency.
